What will you do?

In this position you will lead our Kwa-Zulu Natal office, where you will play an integral role in executing our strategy for this region, aligned to our Africa strategy. We have identified this region for aggressive growth. You will lead a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of projects.

  • Aurecon’s visible leader in Kwa-Zulu Natal, providing strong leadership to the teams;
  • Commercially astute with outstanding business and financial acumen;
  • Inspirational leadership with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate teams to drive superior client and business outcomes, and grow the next generation of leaders. This includes the timeliness, quality, risk management, financial performance and scope management of projects, in line with the Aurecon methodology;
  • Embrace and leverage our Future Ready initiatives including digital, design to innovate and eminence;
  • Manage Aurecon risks in collaboration with the National Assurance team;
  • Diversity & Inclusion with the ability to successfully integrate diverse cultures;
  • Rapidly grow the Kwa-Zulu Natal business by winning the work, delivering the work and collecting the cash, with emphasis on the manufacturing and private sectors;
  • Strong collaboration through portfolio and client knowledge and building and maintaining strong relationships, especially those that are external;
  • Accountable for the financial performance, sustained growth and generation of revenue for the Kwa-Zulu Natal region through client relationships, proposals, tenders and bids;
  • Lead the development of client relationships and help establish networks with assistance of client relationship executives;
  • Building, leading and developing a unified and motivated team to ensure a high performing and engaged Kwa-Zulu Natal office; and
  • Focus management team’s attention on health and safety issues

We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other business areas.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imaging engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will ideally be qualified as a Pr Eng, and a MBA would be an advantage. You need to have at least 10 years post graduate working experience gained in a consulting engineering environment driving a sustainable business with demonstrated growth, client satisfaction and employee engagement. A consulting track record with proven ability to deal with both the public and private sector. Your ability to lead and grow teams and develop new business is of critical importance to us, as we expect aggressive growth of our new Brand, our revenue and headcount in this region.
