POSITION: OFFICE ASSISTANT

Lesotho Revenue Authority Staff Union (LeRASU) is a trade union for non-management staff members of the Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL). It has been established under the labour code order of 1992 with the purpose of ensuring that the rights and interests of non-managerial staff within the RSL are understood and protected in accordance with Lesotho’s constitution of association. LeRASU invites applications from suitably qualified interested Basotho for the position of Office Assistant.

PURPOSE

To provide administrative support to the office of Secretary General- by acting as a key liaison point for internal and external stakeholders so that activities of the LeRASUs office are coordinated efficiently and professionally.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administration Management

• Communicate with all relevant stakeholders on issues pertaining to the union, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships.

• Provide full secretarial duties to the office of Secretary General LeRASU.

• Perform ad-hoc administration duties of LeRASU

• Ensues tidiness of LeRASU’s office

2. Resource Management

• Oversees maintenance and safety of office equipment and stationery

• Acquire petty cash for the running of LeRASUs office and account for it

• File union’s annual returns with Ministry of Labour

• Maintains and keeps files and records of Secretary General

• Keeps all invoices for money used in the running of LeRASU’s business

• Request resources and assets for fulfillment of work duties

3. Reception

• Receive and make telephone calls to administer LeRASU’s incoming and outgoing calls

• Welcome visitors stakeholders and respond to any queries/ inquires and refer them to Secretary General

• Manage e-mail correspondences on behalf of the union

Meetings

• Co-ordinates temue requirements for Annual General Meetings( AGM) of LeRASU and performs all logistical pre-requisites for these AGMS

• Keeps register of all attendees in AGM

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Secretarial studies, Business Studies or any relevant qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as office assistant or personal assistant
