JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Senior Nurse, the Nursing Sister will be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of clinic activities. The Nursing Sister will ensure that all clinic activities conform to required standards and that no activities undermining the image of LPPA are performed.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the clinical aspects of LPPA and outreach activities.
- Keep and maintain records of drugs, equipment, and contraceptives used in the clinic.
- Provide counselling to clients and dispense appropriate drugs.
- Undertake monthly, quarterly, half-year, and annual reporting of clinic activities and submit to the Senior Nurse.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery with at least one (1) year post-qualification experience as a Nursing Sister; OR
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with at least two (2) years post-qualification experience as a Nursing Sister.
- Clinical knowledge and practical skills in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV & AIDS.
- NGO experience is an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of and commitment to Sexual and Reproductive Health.
- Maintenance of high professional and nursing ethical standards.
- Thorough knowledge of contraceptives management and counselling.
- Basic knowledge of record keeping.
- Ability to mobilize communities.
- Sensitivity to socio-cultural values.
- Computer literate.
