EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE

•    Diploma in Nursing and midwifery with 2-3 years practical experience in nursing practice

•    Advanced cardiac life support and International trauma life support certificates

•    Registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council

•    Basic life support certificate

•   Valid driver’s license

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Primary Healthcare

•   Admit, examine and treat patients and refer them to other facilities in consultation with Health & Safety Manager

•   Monitor employees with chronic diseases and follow up on their treatment requirements

•   Maintain a register of all consulted patients

•   Assist in outbreak investigations and disease trends on the mine and communicate findings with the Health &  Safety Manager

•   Reports all healthcare program activities to the Senior Nursing Officer

•   Compile monthly reports

HIV and TB Services

•   Implement HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis work-place policy

•   Provide HIV care and treatment services, including HTS

•   Provide health education on TB infection prevention to employees

•   Conduct TB screening and testing

•   Provide TB management and treatment services

•   Coordinate HIV and TB campaigns

•   Conduct outreach programs on sexually transmitted infections Emergency Care

•   Respond to emergency callouts with rescue team members

•   Provide triage, diagnosis and care for trauma patients, and prevent secondary complications.

•   Receive patients during emergencies and outbreaks

•   Stabilize trauma patients at the clinic before referral to other higher-level facilities

•    Knowledge and application of industry best practice principles

•    Demonstrates accountability for own professional judgement, actions, outcomes of care and continued competence in accordance with the scope of practice

•    Pro-active result driven focus with a high energy level and concern for excellence

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•    Ability to work effectively as part of a team

•    Fluent in Sesotho and English
