Nursing Assistant

Reports to: Registered Nurse Midwife
Job Summary
The scope of practice of a Nursing Assistant entails the following acts and procedures as part of the nursing regime planned and initiated by a Registered Nurse/Midwife and carried out under direct or indirect supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain the health of individuals, families, and communities through health education
- Provide nursing care in all settings
- Promote nutrition of patients, families, and communities
- Facilitate communication with patients during their care
- Prepare individuals and groups for execution of diagnostic procedures and therapeutic acts by a clinical team
Job Specification
- Certificate in Nursing Assistant
- 2 years working experience
- Registration with Lesotho Nursing Council with an up-to-date license
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with clinical and non-clinical teams
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical principles
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
