Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho. The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centered HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the following positions on a full-time, Fixed-Term Contract basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper tracing and linkage of TB patients to care
  • Provide information and education to the TB patients and their household/family on the essential need to complete treatment irrespective of clinical symptoms
  • Do home visits and community outreach to optimize treatment adherence amongst TB patients
  • Tracing of TB patients who had interrupted treatment or had missed scheduled follow-up appointments for monitoring sputum status
  • Identify children for contact tracing and hand-over lists to other partners for community tracing
  • Provide adherence support MDR-TB patients
  • Mobilize and recruitment community members to access TB screening services
  • Ensure availability of HIV self-testing kits and report stock levels to relevant facility staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies

  • Diploma in General Nursing or
  • Certificate in Nursing Assistant or
  • Current registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council
  • Must have knowledge of TB/HIV screening and testing services; tracing and linkage coupled with basic TB, HIV and adherence
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in TB and HIV/AIDS care and treatment
  • Experience working with children, adolescents and young people will be an added advantage
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet targets
