CBA is a non-governmental organization whose mandate is to assist the Lesotho Government on five thematic areas HIV and AIDS, Livelihoods, Economic Empowerment, Food Security and Humanitarian Relief.

CBA with the support from, FHI360 will be implementing the Key Populations (KP) programs.  The project aims to strengthen the HIV prevention and care interventions for key populations (KP) through enhancing the capacity of the KP-led and KP-competent organizations to plan, deliver and optimize HIV prevention, care and treatment services to KP. CBA will implement the project focusing on Female Sex Workers (FSW) and Injecting Drug (IDU) and other priority groups in two (2) districts namely; Maseru and Leribe.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to provide a minimum package of HIV prevention services, through support and integration on TB/HIV/SRH including PrEP, to eligible persons in Maseru and Maputsoe at designated Drop in Centers or supported hotspots. The position will also entail frequent travel to support outreach services in, hotspots and community settings. There will be close collaboration with Ministry of Health facilities responsible for the catchment areas being targeted. The position reports directly to the Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide clinical assessment of key populations (FSWs and   Priority populations  ) to deliver a comprehensive package  HIV care and treatment.
  • Supervise booking of clients for TB/HIV/SRH preventions services to ensure correct registration and efficient patient flow.
  • In the absence of the HTS Counsellor, provide both individual and group counselling for HIV testing, TB screening, PrEP, SRH and TB screening and answer client questions  
  • Ensures that ART, TB and PrEP and other commodities are available in stock and update client’s records on ART, TB and PrEP files held and Manage and supervise a working and up-to-date dispensary to record all stock received and dispensed.
  • Together with the team, ensure high quality TB/HIV/SRH services are integrated and maintained.
  • Adhere to national HTS, PrEP, STI. TB guidelines and SOPs.
  • Ensure that registers and monitoring and evaluation tools are filled properly at all times for quality data management.
  • Monitoring of PrEP clients and linkage into ART for sero-converting clients while on PrEP and engage with public and private health facilities to support follow up of clients.
  • Ensure timely communication with lab services for diagnostic testing and return of results
  • Assist in data compilation of weekly/monthly reporting to Data Clerks and M&E Officer or others, as advised by the supervisor.
  • Ensures patient information is accurately recorded at sites; and treated with confidentiality
  • Take part in preparation of schedules outreach services in conjunction with the DHMT.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Submitt weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the project officer and DHMTs.
  • Participate in other partners meetings

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Diploma/ Degree (Degree preferred) in General Nursing with Midwifery
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in implementation of community-based HIV /TB and AIDS prevention, care and support programs. Experience of working in HIV donor -funded programs and experience, in a supervisory role, will be an added advantage.
  • Registered with Lesotho Nursing Council of Lesotho with valid practicing license.
  • Must have extensive experience in HIV, AIDS, TB, and STI treatment and care. Experience with HIV and AIDS interventions for key populations will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, Presentation, Facilitation, Mentoring and training skills.
  • Dynamic professional willing to work flexible hours
  • Computer Skills, including MS Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel
