Background
The Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC) is a statutory body mandated by the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 12 of 1998 to oversee:
- Education and training of nurses and midwives
- Registration and practice of nursing and midwifery
- Regulation of professional conduct of nurses and midwives
Opportunity
The Lesotho Nursing Council invites applications for six (6) Nurse Educators for the Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery to set Licensure Examinations in the following areas:
- Content-Based Curriculum for the Nursing Programme
- Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) for the Nursing Programme
- Midwifery for the Midwifery Programme
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Assessment
- Monitoring
- Evaluation of students’ performance
Required Skills and Work Experience
- Degree in Nursing Education with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience
- Master’s degree in Education will be an added advantage
- Registered Nurse Midwife, registered as a Nurse Educator, and currently holding an up-to-date licence
- Strong work ethic and professionalism
Remuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with the LNC examiners’ scale, which may be competitive.
Successful candidates will be contracted to set entry-to-practice examinations for a period of two (2) years.
