Paray Mission Hospital is a Roman Catholic Church Health Facility situated at the administration center of Thaba-Tseka District. It is under the leadership of the Archbishop of Maseru, run by the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa in collaboration with Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL), to provide accessible, affordable holistic quality health care to all people.
Applications are therefore invited from highly qualified local and international candidates for the following positions.
Positions: Nurse Anaesthetist (1)
Location: Thaba-Tseka
Remuneration Grade: G
𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲:
To provide anaesthetics to patients for surgery and intensive care. Your main responsibility is to care for patients before, during and after surgery, making sure that they are safe and comfortable. The main job would also include resuscitation of patients, emergency care and intensive/high care.
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
- Prepare patients for surgery by explaining any risks or side effects.
- Give anaesthesia to patients.
- Observe and monitor patients during surgery, responding quickly to any changes.
- Ensure proper sedation and pain management either acute or chronic.
- Resuscitate and stabilise patients in the emergency department.
- Relieve pain during childbirth.
- Resuscitate patients that require such promptly at any setting of the hospital.
- Work in close collaboration with the High Care team as the team leader.
- Ease pain after an operation.
- Document every piece of work done on patient on the patient file or relevant books available in the institution.
- Understand the medical conditions that can impact administration of anaesthesia and suggest the level and type of anaesthesia accordingly
- You will work long hours including nights and weekends and you will be part of out-of- hour’s rota system.
- Employees are expected to demonstrate commitment to Paray Mission Hospital by ensuring regular attendance at work and efficient completion of duties.
𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞:
- A registered diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing Anaesthetist which is attained from an accredited and approved anaesthesia program.
- Must be registered with Lesotho Nursing Council and Nurse Anaesthetist.
- Must be having a valid practising license issued by Lesotho Nursing Council.
