Nomination of New LCCM Members to Serve a Three Year Term – 2019 to 2022

The Lesotho Country Coordinating Mechanism (LCCM) was established in response to the requirements and recommendations of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) as a governance and oversight mechanism for mobilization and use of the Global Fund grants to fight HIV and AIDS and TB in Lesotho.

The LCCM’s roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Coordinate submission of one national proposal to Global Fund through a formal transparent, participatory and documented process
  • Select one or more appropriate organization(s) to serve as the Principal Recipient for the Global Fund Grants through an objective, transparent and documented process.
  • Oversee the implementation of activities under the Global Fund approved programmes, including approving of major changes in the implementation plans and the Global Fund as necessary.
  • Evaluate the performance of the Global Fund programmes and the principal recipients and submit a request to the Global Fund for continued funding of the programme
  • Ensure linkage and consistency between Global Fund assistance and other resources available in support of National HIV and AIDS and TB programmes
  • Ensure all relevant sectors are involved in decision making process and provide information on the Global Fund grants; such as call for proposals, decision of the LCCM and approved proposal and implementation of the Global Fund grants; to a wide range of stakeholders.

The term of current CCM Membership is ending in September 2019 and stakeholders ought to nominate new representatives to serve for a term of three (3) years from 2019 to 2022.

Invitation is cordially made to interested Private Sector, Civil Society, Key Populations, People Living with Diseases and Youth Organizations to attend information sharing session and elections of new representatives to take place on Thursday, 22 August 2019, at 10h00 at the Ministry of Health Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting is for the various constituencies to nominate organizations that will represent them in the Lesotho Country Coordinating Mechanism (LCCM).
