Overview
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the Government of Lesotho loan bursary to study at the University of Zambia under the following postgraduate medicine specialization programmes:
Available Programmes
(i) Vitreo Retinal Surgery
(ii) Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus
(iii) Paediatric Nephrology
(iv) Paediatric Infectious Diseases
(v) Paediatric Gastroenterology
(vi) Paediatric Anesthesia and critical care
(vii) Neonatology
(viii) Male Genitourinary construction and Prosthetics
(ix) Glaucoma
(x) Gastroenterology
(xi) Forensic Pathology
(xii) Breast Surgery
(xiii) Community Eye Health
Submission Requirements
- Meet minimum entry requirements of a 1st degree in Bachelor of Medicine (MBCHB) from a recognized institution with completed internship
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Lesotho and willing to register with the Zambian Medical Council
- Original and certified copies of academic and professional certificates and transcripts
- Qualifications from non-NMDS sponsored public and private international institutions should be evaluated
- Original and certified copies of National ID and a valid passport
- Curriculum Vitae
- Proof of application or admission for all programmes applied for
- Employer’s nomination letter for study leave
- Must have paid at least 50% of their repayable loan bursary, with proof (for previously sponsored students)
Important Dates and Application Process
- Applicants are encouraged to apply to the University of Zambia by 30th June 2026 to allow time to meet administrative requirements
