NMDS Bursaries to Study in South Africa Universities in 2024

APPLICATIONS FOR NMDS BURSARIES TO STUDY IN SOUTH AFRICA UNIVERSITIES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 2024.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the Government of Lesotho bursaries based on the published 2024 priorities of study to pursue Bachelor’s Degree, Honours, Masters and PhDs on full studies at selected sponsored Universities in the Republic of South Africa for January 2024.

Requirements:

•Completed NMDS Loan Bursaries Application Form (available on the below provided link).

•Proof of application for all programmes applied for which must only be programmes that are on 2024 priority areas list and are for full time study within minimum duration at selected sponsored universities.

•Original and certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts (Qualifications from international- excluding institutions sponsored by NMDS, and private institutions should be evaluated).

•Original and certified copies of National ID and a valid passport.

•CV

•Employer’s nomination letter for employed applicants. The letter must state duration of employment.

•All previously sponsored applicants must note the following:

 Employed applicants for postgraduate and all applicants for undergraduate studies must have paid at least 50% of their Loan Bursary and cleared existing arrears if any and must submit proof of payment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

•A Level

•National Senior Certificate (NSC)/ Matric, Admissible into Bachelor’s Degree.

•Completed 1st year BSc from NUL for Science and Technology programmes. Applicants are invited to note that anyone who has completed beyond 1st year will be required to repay at full cost all expenses disbursed at the time of contracting.

•All 1st year students with 1st Semester or full 1st year academic results and 2nd to 3rd year students University registered students with complete and passed results on priority programmes of study list are eligible to apply.

•Completed bridging course relevant to the program applied for as listed in the priorities.

•Complete results with passed N5/ N6/ Certificate/ Diploma relevant to the priority programme of study being applied for.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

•1st degree from a recognized institution relevant to the priority programme of study applied for.

***Applicants are advised to note that:

-Applications are for programmes listed in the Priority Areas list and are on full time study within minimum duration stipulated in institution prospectus only.

-Bridging and extended programmes are not sponsored.

All application documents should be hand delivered to NMDS Scholarship Office from 1st September to 29th September 2023. Applications are only attended to at 11:00am.
