Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position:


POSITION: Network Security Administrator

Number of Positions: One (1)
Department: ICT
Responsible To: ICT Infrastructure Support Manager


Job Purpose

The Network Security Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of network and security solutions to ensure the Ministry’s ICT infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.


Key Functions

  1. Control user access to the LAN and ICT resources such as network printers and other shared services within the Ministry.
  2. Analyse, develop, and implement new network security protocols to strengthen system efficiency and protection against threats or malfunctions.
  3. Manage and maintain LAN and WAN systems in compliance with industry standards.
  4. Coordinate the acquisition, deployment, and use of appropriate technologies to support the Ministry’s programme and operational needs.
  5. Monitor the use of internal data and voice communication facilities (hardware, software, and bandwidth utilization).
  6. Propose, specify, and implement enhancements to network infrastructure for improved performance, reliability, and security.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution, with a minimum of two (2) years working experience at the level of Systems Support in the Lesotho Government or an equivalent level from a reputable organization;
    OR
  • Honours or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized institution, with a minimum of four (4) years relevant working experience, of which at least two (2) years must have been served at the level of Systems Support or equivalent, in Government or a reputable organization.

Certifications in ICT Networks or a related field from a recognized university or institution will be an added advantage.
