Inclusive Education South Africa is a registered NPO that has, since 1995, been committed to promoting and supporting positive models of inclusive education in schools, preschools and other centres of learning in South Africa.

The National Programme Manager will provide overall responsibility, technical guidance and leadership for the development and implementation of IESASs Programmes. Technical advice provided will include strategic and operational planning and implementation, input into monitoring and evaluation, managing programme quality, financial and narrative reporting and liaison with relevant stakeholders and community mobilisation. The National Programme Manager will provide the operational team  support in the development of relevant Education projects that contribute to the achievement of the goals of each of the subthemes within IESAs programmes.

Key Accountabilities
Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Staff Management: Planning, supporting and coaching others by focusing them on the accomplishment of work objectives through active performance management and development. This is done to enhance and strengthen their respective skills and abilities that they can fulfil current and future role responsibilities more efficiently
Planning, Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting: Ensuring that the programme has a plan to guide its work, and ensure that the team monitors activities in line with agreed theory of change, monitoring tools and systems, and uses monitoring data to guide learning and development.
Service delivery: Ensuring that activities are completed in line with Programme plans, and that beneficiaries experience a high quality service, including refining and further developing the programme strategy
Community Relations: Developing and maintaining positive and effective relationships for the programme.
Manage programmes and projects across our four areas research, advocacy, capacity building and policy dialogue, and ensuring exceptional high-quality products.
Develop, evaluate and maintain annual operational plans for the Programmes;
Develop a 3 year strategic approach to Education;
Provide technical support to the Facilitators, field teams, stakeholders and other Education staff on matters which may include inter alia, the understanding of Inclusive Education, Facilitation of learning events, the development of technical materials, discussions, workshops, demonstrations and joint visits;
Monitor trends, innovations and best practise in the Inclusive Education field from South Africa and elsewhere and incorporate where appropriate;
In collaboration with the Director and researcher, produce and coordinate Education related research publications, position papers and opinion pieces in support of IESA`s vision
Provide a regular analysis on the Inclusive Education sector for IESA
Assume responsibility in the development of concept notes in Inclusive Education field, and actively participate in the development of concept notes and donor proposals for other Programmes and projects where Inclusive Education activities are included;
Represent IESA at relevant meetings in the technical field including with partner agencies / NGOs/government agencies in South Africa and elsewhere;
Establish and deepen new and existing collaborative relationships with government stakeholders at local, provincial and national levels;
Support integration of Inclusive Education components into other programmatic areas and vice-versa;
In collaboration with the communications unit, prepare documentation, media and other reports on IESA’s education work;
Participate in monitoring and evaluation process design, implementation, analysis and associated development of recommendation to enhance programme quality;
Produce internal and external narrative and financial commentary
Requirements
5 years’ relevant experience in leading programmes/ Projects related to capacity building, education and Inclusion
Exceptional Report writing skills
Regularly analyse the impact of programmes and projects and conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments
Experience of working with SETA
Experience of implementing Inclusive Programmes in Schools
Understanding of Inclusive practices and training in ECD
Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of programmes in the educational space.
Demonstrate a strong sense of focus on results, driving tasks and projects to completion.
Demonstrated experience in successfully building advocacy and campaign with multiple stakeholders at regional, national and local level would be advantageous.
Strong funding proposal skills and ability to identify opportunities for fundraising.
Exceptional writing and communication skills; and ability to organize information in a professional and credible manner
Staff development and building teams
Experience of working in with collaborative organisations in Educational space.
