Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Maseru for a National Organizer. The National Organizer will play a pivotal role in organizing, mobilizing, and supporting teachers through union initiatives and campaigns. Responsibilities include coordinating events and training sessions, fostering engagement among union members, advocating for teachers’ rights, and collaborating with education stakeholders. The role also involves administrative tasks, strategic planning, and the creation of impactful communication materials.
Qualifications
- Organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan and execute events or campaigns
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster engagement and build relationships with union members and stakeholders
- Advocacy and negotiation skills to effectively promote teachers’ rights and labor relations
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess needs and develop effective initiatives
- Experience in education, union work, or social justice movements is an advantage
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in English and Sesotho
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, public administration, or a related field
