NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LESOTHO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (NULIS)
MUSIC TEACHER
POST NO. 1256
Applications are invited for suitably qualified teacher for the post of Music teacher at the National University of Lesotho International School. NULIS runs from Reception to Grade 11 (R-12) have a roll of over 350 students in the Primary Section (Reception –Grade 7) and 291 students in the Secondary Section (Grade 8-12). The students come from varying socio economic and multicultural backgrounds. In the light of the above, NULIS students sit for
Cambridge Checkpoint 1 & 2 at Grade 6 and 9 respectively and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at Grade 11. The successful candidate will be required to teach both Primary and Secondary Sections and will be expected to participate fully in extracurricular activities.
Minimum qualification:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with specialization in Music Education.
2. Ability to play piano or keyboard.
3. Ability to teach another subject such as ART and Design will be an added advantage.
4. People who have enrolled in a Master’s in Education Degree have an added advantage.
5. A candidate should have five (5) years teaching experience in music, however, having taught in an International School would be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
To teach music to all primary and secondary students
1. To train the school choir.
2. To teach instrumentals (piano, keyboards, recorders and any other instrument)
3. To participate fully in extra-curricular activities, school clubs, functions and competitions.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications.
Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
