The Position
IDA is seeking three (3) Movement Strengthening Officers.
Start Date: 1 April 2026
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2026 (3‑month probation period)
Employment: Remote, full‑time
Level: 7
Line Manager: Inclusion Accelerator Hub Senior Manager
Direct Supervision: None
The Movement Strengthening Officer contributes to IDA’s Impact Strategy 2025–2030, specifically Strategic Objectives 2 and 4:
• Leverage the potential of OPDs to achieve their strategic priorities
• Drive innovation and impactful solutions for challenges faced by persons with disabilities
The role supports OPD ecosystem strengthening, peer learning, mentorship, and institutional development under the Inclusion Accelerator Hub.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
1. OPD Ecosystem Support & Institutional Strengthening
• Support implementation of national OPD ecosystem strengthening initiatives
• Assist in coordinating institutional capacity assessments and development plans
• Provide operational support for sub‑granting processes and partner accompaniment
2. Peer Learning & Mentorship Mechanisms
• Coordinate virtual and in‑person peer‑learning events
• Support design and facilitation of mentorship models between emerging and experienced OPDs
• Document good practices, case studies, and lessons from movement strengthening work
• Maintain tracking systems for mentorship engagement and ecosystem reach
3. Knowledge, Monitoring & Reporting
• Contribute to monitoring indicators aligned with IDA’s Balanced Scorecard
• Support data collection, partner reporting, and internal results tracking
• Assist in preparing narrative reports for donors and governance bodies
• Contribute to development of guidance notes, toolkits, and practice briefs
4. Coordination & Representation
• Liaise with regional members and national OPDs to ensure coordinated delivery
• Participate in internal coordination meetings across pillars
• Support preparation of proposals and concept notes related to ecosystem strengthening
Skills and Requirements
1. Education and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international development, social sciences, public policy, or related field
2. Experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in development, civil society strengthening, or human rights
• Experience working with grassroots organizations or OPDs (preferred)
• Experience supporting capacity development across multiple countries
• Familiarity with safeguarding, governance, and compliance frameworks (desirable)
3. Technical and Functional Skills
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Ability to facilitate virtual learning sessions and multi‑stakeholder discussions
• Strong written communication and reporting abilities
• Basic understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and results‑based management
• Fluency in English required; additional languages an asset
4. Additional Assets (Desirable)
• Persons with disabilities strongly encouraged to apply
• Experience working in Global South contexts
• Knowledge of CRPD and disability‑inclusive development frameworks
