Terms of Reference: Voluntary Board Members
Overview
The purpose of the Advisory Board for ALN is to provide guidance, advice, and support to the organization in fulfilling its mission to provide education to underserved communities.
The Board provides strategic advice on:
- Organizational development
- Program design and implementation
- Fundraising strategies
This ensures the success and sustainability of the organization.
Available Board Positions
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Board Member
Role Purpose
To ensure ALN’s programs are impactful and evidence‑driven.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the design of M&E frameworks
- Advise on data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Support capacity building in impact measurement
- Ensure compliance with the ALN MEL system
Expected Deliverables
- Annual M&E report
- Capacity‑building workshops for staff and volunteers
General Expectations for All Board Members
- Attend at least 4 board meetings per year (virtual or in person)
- Participate in setting meeting agendas and contributing to discussions
- Maintain regular communication via email, phone, or other platforms
- Serve a 2‑year renewable term
- Contribute expertise, networks, and active engagement to ALN’s mission

Compensation
- These are voluntary positions
- No financial compensation will be provided
