ACTIVATE! Change Drivers was initiated in January 2012, and to date has provided more than 2500 young South Africans with the training to change their lives, and the world they inhabit. The organisation is present across all nine provinces from cities, rural areas, education levels, in diverse religious and sexual orientations and identities.

ACTIVATE! Seeks a dynamic, Siyashesha Leadership Incubator seeks to appoint a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator to be based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town. The M&E Coordinator will develop and manage the M&E framework for the organisation to successfully measure its impact. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining internal programme & systems team relationships as well as relevant service providers and report writing.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Design and implement an M&E framework to measure the impact of our programmes. In some cases this may require reviewing and revising of existing frameworks and the systems that support these.
Recommending further improvement of the logical / M&E framework
Develop monitoring and impact indicators for all programmes and portfolios. In some cases there may be existing indications which needs to be reviewed and revised.
Designing quality control tools
Monitor and evaluate overall progress of programs
Submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Together with the Communications Manager, design an annual report for the organisation which will be distributed to all stakeholders
Engage with CEO and Programmes Executive regarding any specific reports to funders, when needed
Present M&E results to funders, when needed
With the Systems co-ordinator inform the responsibilities of systems collection aligned to this framework. The organisation currently uses the Salesforce System as a data management and collection tool
Design and implement surveys in relation to the signed off M&E framework, as required
Regularly meet with Programme, Communications and Systems teams to ensure they are actively pursuing the mandate as set out by the M&E measuring impact and outlining key areas and learnings.
Provide insights for programme strategic decision-making based on ongoing monitoring and data analysis and report writing.
Implementation assessment/Process evaluations of key events during the ACTIVATE! Calendar year.
Provide M&E expertise to the team when planning any intervention or event in terms of evaluation design and data collection instruments.
Collate reports on outcomes of events that have been evaluated.
Present and discuss outcomes with team members and stakeholders as required.
Other activities that are necessary
Develop baseline data for the programme by collecting and comparing data from pre- and post-questionnaires as well as video interviews conducted with Activators
Liaise with field reporters and trainers in different training nodes with regard to interventions run by programme participants and conduct an analysis of collected
Work closely with Communications Manager to maintain the collection and storing of activator stories to assess programme impact and deliverables.
Develop research papers and articles based on programme data as and when required time permitting.
The function will require traveling on a moderate scale & as budget allows to assess m&e data and collect activator stories
Requirements
A post graduate qualification in M&E or a related field
3-5 years relevant experience
Excellent research and writing skills
Demonstrated knowledge in social science research methodology
Strong analytical skills, both in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Experience in designing data collection tools
Experience in conducting process and outcome evaluations
Excellent organisational skills
Able to engage constructively with the team and organizational staff
Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to work with minimum supervision
