Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC, (MatCH) is a non-profit organization supporting public sector health services. MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support. MatCH is looking to fill the following positions under a project funded by THINK Tuberculosis and HIV Investigative Network RF NPC aimed to strengthen the health care delivery platform for TB in the Eastern Cape.

Location:  Sarah Baartman District (Eastern Cape Province)

Duration of Contracts:  Fixed term contracts ending 30 September 2022

Main purpose of the job 

To perform quality assurance activities and internal monitoring of the project per the quality management plan. To ensure that the project is being conducted in accordance with the protocol, standard operating procedures, sponsor requirements, ICH GCP, and other applicable guidelines and regulations.

Key performance areas
Support the M&E team to accurately and timeously submit relevant reports
Prepare internal monitoring reports, and assist with completion of corrective action
Implement and monitor quality assurance systems for reporting
Verify accuracy and transcription of data
Assess error trends and train staff on relevant data quality issues
Implement effective data management systems at project sites
Contribute to preparation of guidelines and SOPs for Data Quality Assurance
Assist with the set up and maintenance of regulatory files at the project sites
Effective self-management and performance ownership
Manage data in compliance with POPIA
Required minimum education and training
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, Social Sciences, Development, Health, or similar field required.
Minimum work experience
3 years’ relevant experience in field implementation and management of M&E in HIV related programs for public, private or NGO sector
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Matric Mathematics
Previous PEPFAR and/or HIV/TB project related M&E experience
Knowledge of South African Public Health Information Management Systems (WebDHIS, TIER.Net, EDRWeb, SyNCH)
Knowledge of statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, STATA)
Very good computer skills (MS office Package)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Self-motivated
Able to work independently and work as part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
Good attention to detail
Regular travel to project sites will be required and working overtime may be required from time to time
Able to multi-task and work towards meeting deadlines
Valid driver’s license with driving experience
Ability and willingness to travel
