Position Advertisement: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
The Ministry of Health has received support from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) under the project titled:
“Strengthening Ministry of Health’s Capacity (MOH-Cap) for HIV Diagnosis, Treatment and Monitoring in the Kingdom of Lesotho.”
The Ministry is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Position Details
- Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
- Program: Ministry of Health – CDC Cooperative Agreement
- Duty Station: Ministry of Health Headquarters, Maseru
- Level of Effort: Full-time
- Duration: Ten (10) months; renewable subject to performance and availability of funding
- Reporting to: National TB Programme Manager
Purpose of the Job
To provide support in monitoring and evaluation for the Ministry of Health – National TB Programme (NTP).
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and/or revision of TB reporting and recording tools.
- Conduct trainings on data use and ensure their availability in all health facilities.
- Facilitate and follow up with health facilities to ensure accurate and timely TB and TB/HIV data reporting.
- Conduct regular data verification and cleaning to ensure adherence to data quality principles.
- Support Data Quality Audits (DQA) and Routine Data Quality Assessments (RDQAs) at the district level.
- Mentor and train district TB coordinators and health facility staff on TB M&E knowledge.
- Participate in data analysis and evidence-based reporting.
- Participate in national-level TB policy and guideline development.
- Support program surveys and operational studies.
- Compile and submit quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Demography, Statistics, or related field.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in M&E design and implementation.
- At least 3 years’ operational experience in data collection, collation, and reporting.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Previous experience with NGO or donor-funded programs preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
