Advertisement for Project Management Unit Positions

The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN), will be implementing a project on Building Climate Smart Resilient Livelihoods and Food Systems.

This five-year project will be implemented in four sub-catchments: Hlotse, Maletsunyane, Seaka, and Stanteng, and is financed by the Government of Lesotho, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

The proposed project aims to enhance climate resilience of landscapes and communities for food and nutrition security through sustainable water management.

The MAFSN has established key positions for the Project Coordination Unit and invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the following positions:

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&EO)

Reports to: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Maseru, with intensive travel to 4 districts

Job Summary:

Ensure the project has an effective M&E system, instilling quality assurance, accountability, and integrity in project monitoring.

Key Duties:

Monitoring & Evaluation System:

  • Establish M&E system in line with national frameworks and FAO projects.

Survey Supervision:

  • Refine M&E indicators and logframes.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Organize M&E training for staff and partners.
  • Provide timely, well-researched insights to improve performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders for information exchange.
  • Ensure gender mainstreaming and impact measurement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Postgraduate Diploma/Honours in Economics, Statistics, M&E, Demography, Population Studies, or Rural Development + 6 years of relevant experience,
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in same fields + 8 years’ experience.

Skills:

  • Strong planning, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • High integrity and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate governance and manage stakeholder relations.

Mode and Duration of Contract:

All positions are offered on a three-year contract, renewable based on satisfactory performance.
