Ubuntu Pathways seeks to appoint a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to be based in Port Elizabeth, Zwide.

The purpose of the job is to develop and lead the monitoring and evaluation strategy for HSEI projects and ensure efficiency in the provision of project reports
Plan and implement strategies to maximize the usage of data collected and ensure appropriate dissemination of important lessons learned
Strengthen the M&E capacity of relevant stakeholder staff

Responsibilities:
Assess  and Design research and evaluation    efforts to measure the impact of health projects and programs
Identification M&E priorities and include these in annual plans
Manage / Improve data systems – collection, storage, use
Develop and Implement SOPs/processes to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency in data management
Monitor all M&E related project activities and progress towards achieving the project output
Prepare high-quality reports for internal and external audiences
Implement monitoring and evaluation plans for all the projects and daily activities
Build an organizational knowledge base through research and partnerships
Use data to make project/programme recommendations to clinic senior leadership
Set program milestones and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Ensure clinic performance is reviewed on annual basis
Organise Annual Project/Programme Reviews and Planning workshops and prepare materials for workshops
Prepare funder reports and DOH Reports
Explore and provide recommendations for innovative technologies to streamline monitoring, evaluation and other operational functions
Build staff capacity through training and technical assistance for accurate data collection and reporting
Identify, Organize and facilitate M&E trainings and workshops including preparation of concept note and development of training materials, training schedule, etc.
Work with the Finance, Operations, and Compliance units to develop a system to track and report cost-related data for program elements.
Requirements:
A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred
More than 8 years training or work experience in either: monitoring & evaluation, computer science, information systems, data management science, public health, health informatics,    statistics/mathematics
At least 5 years of experience with Health Indicators, M&E, Data quality and reporting
Experience in M&E Capacity building for facility level data capturing teams
Outstanding communication skills and report writing skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with people at all levels in the organisation
Advanced Computer Skills, especially MS Excel
Knowledge of best practices
Experience in a clinical research environment
Experience implementing M&E plans
Experience with Health Systems  and Data feedback Experience training and mentoring in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and familiarity with South Africa’s health information at public-sector facilities
Good interpersonal and communications skills
Fluency in oral and written English and isiXhosa
Salary: Salary for this role is market related and commensurate with experience
