Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC, (MatCH) is a non-profit organization supporting public sector health services. MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support. MatCH is looking to fill the following Position under the Woza Asibonisane! Community Programme focusing on HIV Prevention, Community Mobilization and Norms Change interventions in women and men aged 20-49 years in the Eastern Cape.

Location: Buffalo City Metropolitan District but to provide support to both Buffalo City Municipality and Alfred Nzo District (Eastern Cape)

Duration of Contract: Fixed term contract ending 30 September 2021

Main purpose of the job

To coordinate and oversee quality data capturing, monitor and evaluate district performance data, including the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, and to provide data capturing supervision to assist in strengthening monitoring and evaluation of the Woza Asibonisane! Programme.

Key performance areas
Conduct health facility and community-based field visits
Oversee data management & reporting for all project implementing districts and sites
Conduct data quality assurance activities
Manage project staff
District Data Review Meetings
Provide capacity building in monitoring, evaluation and reporting
Support report writing and timeous submission of requested data elements and progress reports
Participate in Research and Generation of Information Products
Required minimum education and training
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, Social Sciences, Development, Health, or similar field required
Minimum work experience
At least 3 years’ relevant experience in field implementation and management of M&E in HIV related programs for public, private or NGO sector
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Presentation skills and data visualization
Post Graduate Qualification in Information management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Data management or Information systems
Previous PEPFAR and/or HIV/TB project related M&E experience
Extensive knowledge and experience in the South African Public Health Information Management Systems (WebDHIS, TIER.Net, EDRWeb, SyNCH)
Sound knowledge and experience of data management and statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, STATA)
Training/ Facilitation experience on M&E related aspects
MER Framework development
Must be willing to travel at short notice
Ability to handle a varied, busy and pressurized workload
Organized, thorough, attention to detail, quality and accurate approach to work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Above average computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word, and demonstrated ability to use other data analysis packages
Valid driver’s license, own vehicle and willingness to travel
