INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION
𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗠𝗥𝗨𝗢𝘀)
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) as a body that is mandated to deliver credible elections, and is currently undertaking a robust exercise of registering all eligible voters across the entire country. To pursue its mandate IEC has powers to appoint electoral officers, consultants and other persons, and specify their functions (National Assembly Electoral Act, 2011). IEC invites applications for suitable qualified Basotho Nationals for the temporary position of Mobile Registration Unit Operators for the registering of voters.
𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Using the Mobile Registration Unit, the Mobile Registration Unit Operator will:
- 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒚:
- Scanning ID Bar Code to extract Electors data.
- Filling in all mandatory fields i.e. Constituency, Village and Registration Centre.
- Fill all registration related forms.
- 𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒚 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝒃𝒚:
- Ensuring that uploaded data corresponds with report generated by the Gadgets at the end of Business day.
- 𝑼𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓’𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒚:
- Transferring electors
- Removal of deceased from the voters roll.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the District Electoral Officer that are related to registration activities.
𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞:
Have a least a minimum certificate in computers.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝:
- Be registered as an elector.
- Be willing to take appointment in any Constituency or District.
- Be between the ages of 18 and 45.
- Be willing to work over abnormal working hours and on weekends and holidays.
- Be willing to work everywhere in Lesotho.
- Be willing to travel long distances
- Be able to ride on horse-back (added advantage)
