Hiring EXPERIENCED, MANAGEMENT-LEVEL GAS UTILITY TRADESMAN to become a MOBILE GAS TRAINING ADVISOR

POSITION: Full-Time, Exempt

TOTAL COMPENSATION: Base pay plus incentives, equivalent to $50.48/hourly
Total pay: $105,000 + DOE

LOCATION: North America
Up to 50% travel required (approximately 26 wks/yr). When not traveling to train, you work from home or at NLC campus locations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are hiring a Gas Training Advisor for our Mobile Training Division. This position will act as a liaison between NLC and their customers – ensuring that education offerings delivered are consistent with NLC standards and customer expectations. Because the NLC Mobile Team delivers both classroom and field training on a variety of subjects, using professionally developed curriculum, the Gas Training Advisor will take initiative, assist in the development of new curriculum, frequently train students, build trusting customer relationships, and exemplify safety and professionalism. To ensure the success of every training day, NLC’s Mobile Division is supported by helpful operations and administrative professionals. Your students will include apprentices, line workers, and crew leaders from across the nation—sometimes from across the world. Your mission is to help them come home safe to their family! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for training
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Excellent communication and listening skills in English, both oral and written
  • Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish/English preferred
  • Adopts a high standard of positive, friendly customer service in execution of duties
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Mastery of the trade with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in gas utilities
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role, which includes hiring, evaluation and termination decisions
  • High school diploma
  • Demonstrated excellence as an instructor for the Gas Industry in both classroom and field environments
  • Skilled in business writing
  • Highly adaptable in the use of technology
  • Curiosity and confidence to research and utilize resources to gain expertise in OSHA, NESC, and other regulations and standards
  • Enthusiastic about traveling to a variety of locations and interacting with varied workplace cultures
  • Ability to adjust to shifting schedules, changing priorities or emergency needs within numerous companies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stamina to work in an educational institution and to work in an outdoor environment exposed to adverse weather conditions and noise
  • Speech and hearing to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively
  • Visual acuity to comprehend written materials, detailed reports, and utilize computer programs and spreadsheets
  • Personal mobility, manual dexterity, flexibility and balance to work in a classroom or field educational setting; stand or sit for extended periods of time; bend and reach to move or carry items weighing up to 65 lbs.
