gold-youth Development Agency seeks to appoint a Micro-Business Development (MB) Manager to be based in South Africa.

The gold Micro-Business Development (MB) Manager will report to the Head of Enterprise Development and will drive the identification, model testing and development, as well as drive the identification and support for new business.  

A. Key Result Areas
Manage the design, testing and implementation of a micro business strategy.
Take ownership of the business operating strategies, plans and procedures;
Ensure MB project management in support of  business goals of learning, performance and growth;
Implement Enterprise Development policies that promote good practice in support of the company  learning culture and vision of societal impact;
Lead the management of MB projects, ensure customer focus, market alignment and business profitability;
Oversee daily operations of the all MB functions and ensure effective integration and support with the rest of the operational team across all functions in gold-youth.
Lead team members to encourage maximum performance and evidence based learning;
Evaluate business performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics;
Communicate effectively with Functional Head, write and submit reports on all matters of importance, on time as required;
Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, social alliances etc.);
Manage relationships with industry partners, entrepreneurs and supporting vendors.
Take responsibility for performance to budget and plans.
Align with Training and development activities.
Liaise with National Managers and other functional leaders as required.
B. Qualifications:
Business Degree in Entrepreneurship or equivalent
Project management credentials / qualification (essential)
A Social Development qualification or Accreditation (preference)
Fluent in English and an African language (essential)
A valid Driver License (essential)
This Position will be based either in Cape Town or Johannesburg (South Africa)
C. Desired Experience:
Minimum of 7 years work experience in a new business development environment of which 5 years should be in an operations management capacity
Minimum of 4 years proven experience in Project Management or relevant roles;
Have a proven track record of driving community development;
Strong proven leadership managing a team to deliver high quality outcomes in a dynamic environment
Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc;
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics;
Have a proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a social impact organization;
Have a proven track record of driving business cash flow and an ability to teach others to do the same;
Have a proven track record of optimising costs responsibly, within a company;
Change management project experience.
Experience of working in or knowledge of multiple African countries and cultures
Experience in managing relationships across multiple countries in Africa (preference)
An understanding of youth and/or community development issues.
