We are recruiting a suitability experienced Merchant Development Facilitator. The key objective of this role is to facilitate training sessions to the merchant teams across the Mr Price Group. This position reports into the Head of the mrp Retail College.
The key performance areas:
- Conduct/facilitate group training sessions by presenting content that is role specific and focused on merchant technical skills required and systems and processes (both existing and new).
- Conduct/facilitate group training sessions for merchants on the application of merchant concepts, skills and processes as required.
- Participate in the design and development of content solutions for delivery in a brand and culturally appropriate manner to leverage best knowledge transfer
- Participate in the design and update of existing and new training material (i.e. user manuals, PowerPoint slides, online content etc.).
- Collaborate with the mrp Academy coordination administrators as regards training logistics and processes
- Participate in the review and evaluation of training material version control and amends
- Remain current with knowledge of the Retail/DC mrp Academy faculty’s priorities and divisional development needs in this space. Collaborate where leverage can occur.
- Remain current with knowledge of Merchant concepts, systems and processes by engaging regularly with relevant teams and division’s stakeholders, and where practical attending recurring meetings (current trade/review run through etc.).
- Participate in user acceptance testing and the development of learning material as required.
- Participate in learning and development process improvements, including administration thereof.
The minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 with a relevant completed tertiary qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Merchant. Senior or Management level experience within the Mr Price Group would be advantageous
- Proven record of commercial acumen and understanding business models and processes
- Intimate knowledge of standard merchant procedures and high level technical product knowledge in the retail environment
- Strong experience with mrpg systems and ways of working
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills, a collaborative team player
- Effective communication and presentation skills, motivated by continuous personal development
- Excellent Computer skills, Fluency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Office
- Ability to manage complexity, multiple projects simultaneously including sustainable solution mindset
- Is solution-oriented, agile and resilient
- Excellent organizational and project planning abilities
- Passionate about people development, previous coaching/mentoring experience is an advantage
- Technology savvy
