Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning & Knowledge Management Specialist (MEL & KM Specialist)

Opportunity Type: 1 year fixed term contract with possibility of renewal.

Essential Duties:
Facilitate the entry, validation, management, and reporting of key project data, including the following: extraction of key data from weekly field reports, validation of data in coordination with Country Lead Advisors, assisting in updating the master MEL database, and assisting in required reporting for MEL.
Facilitate the entering of data into Power Africa’s tracking system (e.g. PATT) and other related databases.
Organize and manage the collection of supporting documentation, submitted by the Country Lead Advisors for input into the MEL database.
Support the operation and updating of a project management system (Wrike), including the following:  setting up new projects within Wrike at the request of staff, assisting staff with use of Wrike, and creation of customized dashboards in Wrike for the project team.
Troubleshoot issues the project team encounters with Wrike to ensure all information is accurate and up to date in the system.
Assist in training of new project staff on use of Wrike.
Broad support to the management team to report on MEL indicators as well as project activity reports via Wrike, including the following:  summarizing project data in coordination with the MEL Director and generating reports within Wrike for use by management.
Assisting the MEL Director and the PACO Technical Advisor in leveraging the project data to answer research questions, promote thought leadership, and accomplish the learning agenda set forth in the project’s MEL plan.
Minimum Required Education & Experience
Bachelors’ degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. engineering, development studies, statistics, mathematics, data analysis, etc.).
Three (3) years’ relevant experience in areas such as, project monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and modeling, knowledge and database management, or other related fields. Experience with off-grid projects is preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Experience with project monitoring and evaluation.
Experience with project management software (e.g. Wrike).
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work independently.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Sub-Saharan Africa’s off-grid energy sector.
Experience with USAID or other international development/donor agencies.
Proficiency in French.
Explicit experience with Wrike.
Experience with statistical package (e.g. STATA, R, SAS).
