Vacancy exists for a Medical Technologist/Trainee Technologist
Worcester Blood Bank (Paterson Grade C2/B3)
Main Purpose:
To process all blood requests and all related queries efficiently and effectively and to perform other general duties as specified by the Blood Bank/ Processing supervisor. Processing of incoming blood into the various products; and performing general duties to ensure smooth flow of work.
- Matric/ Grade 12
- ND Bio-Medical Technology/ BSC Laboratory Science
- Qualified in Blood Transfusion or in process of qualifying
- Registered with HPCSA.
- Computer literacy
- The working hours are variable and shift work is required.
- Must be willing to relocate to the Worcester area. Successful applicant will be assisted with relocation costs.
- A code 8 driver’s licence without endorsements will be an added advantage, however the successful candidate will be required to attain the driver’s licence within the first six months of employment.
A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a friendly disposition and show keen interest in the work.
- A willingness to work as part of a team is essential
