Letšeng seeks to engage two qualified professionals with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT (PATERSON BAND DU).
PURPOSE: Advise management and manage the mine’s occupational & public health programme.
MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise management on occupational health programme
Manage the mine’s occupational health clinic
Manage occupational health programme, supervision and quality control of occupational and public health services and patient satisfaction
Carry out and update occupational health risk assessments and generate health risk profiles
Carry out placement, periodic and exit medical screening assessments
Manage occupational and personal injuries and on-site medical cases, and liaise with other health facilities locally and regionally
Develop and provide appropriate training programmes for management and staff
Monitor compilation and submission of appropriate management reports
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
MB ChB, MBBS, MD
Registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
University postgraduate qualification in occupational health/Experience of proving occupational health services in a corporate environment (added advantage)
ATLS/BLS/PALS/ITLS (added advantage)
Short courses in HIV & AIDS management (added advantage)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures applicable to the occupational health and public health
Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation and regulations
Ability to attend to finite detail whilst executing outputs to ensure the quality of service delivery
Professionalism, tact, empathy, high quality care and passion for customer service
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidates will be required to undergo a Medical Examination of fitness
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The incumbent will be on 7/7 shift rotation with another Occupational Medical Practitioner
The position will be on three-year fixed-term contract
