Medical Superintendent
St James Mission Hospital, a leading health institution dedicated to delivering quality patient care and health services, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary Medical Superintendent.
This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery aligned with organizational policies and national health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to medical and clinical staff
- Oversee daily hospital operations for effective healthcare service delivery
- Coordinate clinical governance (quality assurance, patient safety, medical ethics)
- Facilitate efficient allocation and use of clinical resources
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and standards
- Support strategic plan and policy development
- Represent the hospital in medical forums, stakeholder meetings, and government engagements
- Submit clinical and management reports to the Board
- Promote continuous professional development among staff

Qualifications and Experience
- MBChB or equivalent
- Registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
- Minimum 5 years post-internship experience in clinical leadership
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Services Management, or related field (added advantage)
