We are seeking qualified, competent and highly motivated medical doctor to join Vitality Health as Medical Officer. Appointment will be offered on renewable five-year fixed-term contract.
Role Description
The Medical Officer will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up within Vitality Health’s network of clinics and partner facilities. Daily responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, coordinating pre-hospital emergency care, and working closely with ambulance teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. The role involves performing relevant medical procedures, supporting hospital outsourced services, and contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance activities. The Medical Officer will also participate in health education, mentoring clinical staff, and collaborating with physicians and management on care protocols and best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lesotho.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in Medicine and Patient Care, with the ability to manage a broad range of conditions in emergency and primary care settings.
- Experience in Surgery or minor procedures appropriate to the level of practice, including safe pre- and post-operative management.
- Demonstrated ability in Training and mentoring clinical staff, supporting continuous professional development and adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Proven experience Working with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and implement treatment plans.
- Recognized medical degree and valid registration with the relevant medical council in Lesotho or eligibility for registration.
- Experience in pre-hospital or emergency medical services is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills, with a commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and adapt to evolving clinical and operational needs.
