Job Summary
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Officer to lead and manage AHF Lesotho’s resources such as Staff, Infrastructure, equipment, finances, building and maintaining strategic partnerships, as well as reporting and ensuring highest standard of care at the centre. The successful candidate will be a key member of the AHF Africa Bureau leadership team, ensuring that AHF’s vision, mission, core values, and key partnership standards drive program strategies and implementation.
The Medical Officer’s role entails day to day operations, quality assurance and decision making.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical care and monitoring to patients.
Utilize Electronic Medical Records system to document patient care where available
• Perform physical examinations and preventative health measures within guidelines.
• Record physical findings and formulate plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition, discuss cases with other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to cover other AHF supported sites upon request.
• Attend weekly CME meetings, monthly medical staff meetings and other meetings Lead Clinic planning, collaboration, and reporting in alignment with AHF’s goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and MUST have certificate in Clinical HIV Management.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a HIV/AIDS and TB Clinic.
Strong experience in Data Analysis and operational research.
• MUST be registered with Lesotho Medical Council.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in diverse settings.
Ability and willing to travel to operational sites. A valid passport is required.
