VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Phelisanang Bophelong HIV/AIDS Network, herein referred to as “PB,” will be supporting the implementation of the Community Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and Diagnosis activities in four (4) districts — Leribe, Berea, Maseru, and Mafeteng — under the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning – Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Global Fund supported project.
The implementation is expected to commence from 01st November 2025 to 31st March 2027.
In order to successfully implement TB Screening and Diagnosis activities, PB announces the following vacant positions and invites interested, passionate, committed, and suitably qualified candidates to apply.
Medical Doctor – TB Services (2 Positions)
Coverage: One for Leribe & Berea and one for Maseru & Mafeteng
Reporting to: Programmes Manager
The Medical Doctors will lead the delivery of Tuberculosis (TB) and TB integrated services at community level. The incumbents will ensure early case detection, proper diagnosis, effective treatment, and follow-up of TB patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and oversee the overall implementation of community-based TB activities.
- Provide medical consultations and clinical care at community TB outreach and mobile clinic sites.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments of all forms of TB.
- Conduct clinical consultations and manage TB/HIV co-infected clients following national TB guidelines.
- Conduct clinical assessments and diagnoses of TB using available diagnostic tools, including X-rays.
- Review and interpret laboratory and radiology results, ensuring timely initiation of treatment.
- Monitor treatment response, manage adverse drug reactions, and conduct follow-up reviews.
- Diagnose and manage opportunistic infections (OIs) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among clients accessing TB services.
- Provide on-site mentorship to nurses on TB/HIV integration and clinical management.
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to TB service delivery.
- Work closely with District TB Coordinators, laboratory staff, and other stakeholders to strengthen TB services.
- Participate in data verification, quarterly review meetings, and reporting.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Lesotho Medical Council (or relevant authority).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in TB programs.
- Strong knowledge of National TB management guidelines.
- Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in community-based settings.
