Position Overview
OnePower (1PWR) is seeking a Mechanical Technician within the Production department with a major role in fabrication and assembly of manufactured structural steel components as well as maintenance and repair of assets (machinery and facilities).
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Interpretation of dimensioned drawings
- Fabrication of parts and assemblies as per specifications
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and facilities as per prevailing/relevant industry standards
- Understanding of and adherence to Health and Safety standards
- Understanding of and adherence to quality assurance methods and techniques
- Participate in developing new fabrication processes and standard operating procedures
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- Diploma in Welding (Arc, MIG, TIG) or equivalent
- Fitting and Turning on a lathe and Milling on a milling machine
- 2–3 years relevant experience
- Hand tools (filing, tapping, grinding, cutting, drilling etc.)
- Strong team player skills across different cultures
- Open-minded, self-driven, and able to work independently
- Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Sesotho and English
