Mechanical / Technical Engineer – Lesotho

The Rosehip Company offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results‑driven Mechanical / Technical Engineer to provide on‑site diagnostic support for technical delivery, process optimisation, and on‑site troubleshooting. The role involves assisting with fault analysis, component replacements, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure mission‑critical equipment operates at peak levels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production Manager with administrative tasks, including production schedules and timesheets
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of project requirements relating to scope, cost, and schedule
  • Identify technical issues within manufacturing processes and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability
  • Develop and implement engineering schedules and maintenance practices
  • Assist in the resolution of technical matters
  • Collaborate with production and cross‑functional teams to achieve operational targets
  • Analyse and improve workflows, production processes, and equipment layouts to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost‑effectiveness
  • Conduct site and condition assessments and provide ongoing technical assistance to ensure stable performance and troubleshoot process deviations
  • Ensure machinery components perform consistently to specification throughout their lifecycle
  • Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to specification
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test work and performance outcomes
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to production, quality, or safety, working with other teams to implement effective solutions
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), safety standards, and company policies

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ technical and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong diagnostic capability across electro‑mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
  • Strong analytical ability, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
