Background
Sentebale is an organisation working in Lesotho and Botswana to support the most vulnerable children and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. The Charity was founded in 2006 by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso following Prince Harry’s gap year to Lesotho in 2004. Sentebale aims to reach children and young people living with or affected by HIV, especially the most vulnerable who are additionally challenged by issues of deprivation, exploitation, abuse or neglect. Sentebale tackles both the symptoms and root causes of HIV/AIDS through four programme areas providing support and awareness, enabling advocacy and promoting empowerment. Sentebale has a particular focus on HIV/AIDS and aims to make a real difference in children’s lives helping them to be more resilient, self-sufficient and have the chance to thrive.
Sentebale hereby invites suitably qualified, competent and self-driven Basotho to apply for the following vacant fixed term positions based in Butha-Buthe, Mokhotlong, Thaba-Tseka, Qacha’s Nek, Quthing and Leribe:
POSITION
M&E Assistants X 3
JOB DESCRIPTION
The M&E Assistant is responsible for assisting the M&E Coordinator in supporting all programmes that are M&E related across Sentebale operations. The M&E Assistant will work closely with programme/project staff and partners to implement M&E initiatives and ensure data quality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Capacitate Data clerks in data collection methods and verifications;
• Assist in routine data collection and entry for various project/programme interventions implemented in the field and ensure that they complete, accurate, clean, and consistent data is shared with the M&E Coordinator and Manager for data analysis and action planning;
• Support data capturing by the data clerks;
• Data verification (HTS and community).
Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported to the project/programme staff and project/programme partners;
• Support District Coordinator and Economic Strengthening Coordinator by supervising and monitoring field cadre staff;
• Collate database;
• Coordinate field cadre team meetings for source document verification;
• Submit to the M&E Coordinator adhoc, weekly and monthly updates on M&E activities conducted in the field,
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in statistics, development Studies or any relevant qualification;
• 1-2 years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis systems;
