Duties

Implements all required mason works, including assistance with post preventive program where required.  Assists maintenance technicians with various aspects of maintenance program.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years formal building experience as a Mason or as a Foreman

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have ability to read drawings and apply basic concepts used in constructions and maintenance.  Ability to identify and select proper hand or power tools for a particular task.  Must be familiar with the concepts involved in the construction cement structures, roof building and stair building, and interior and trim.  Must be knowledgeable of methods of performing framing tasks and other rough concrete jobs.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary School and possession of valid drivers license is mandatory. The incumbent must be a holder of a Certificate in Bricklaying or be a graduate of an approved/accredited apprentice program that provides formal instruction in the trade.Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Sesotho Level 2 – Limited knowledge; written & spoken

                   English Level 2 – Limited knowledge; written & spoken

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be knowledgeable of the concepts contained in the major building codes used in the industry.
