The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho nationals to fill the vacant posts listed below.
MARKING ASSISTANT
Grade: D
Number of Positions: One (1)
Reports To: Marking Operator
Job Summary
Assists in the marking of livestock, cleaning of marking equipment, and participates in planning and reporting of livestock marking activities at the Resource Centre.
Main Duties
1. Marking of Livestock
- Assist in inspection of livestock earmarks
- Restrain livestock during marking
- Clean livestock ears before tattooing
- Tattoo and brand livestock with the Marking Operator
- Conduct post-marking inspections (after six weeks)
2. Cleaning of Marking Equipment
- Clean all marking equipment after use
3. Planning and Reporting
- Attend meetings with Marking Operator
- Participate in planning and reporting of activities
Job Specifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture or Adult Education
OR - COSC/LGCSE plus 3 years’ experience in livestock identification
