Role Description

The eCommerce Coordinator works closely with the Product Lead to help improve and operationalize the Shopify eCommerce platform, known as the “RY Marketplace”. With executional excellence, you will be responsible for ensuring existing products are maintained and new products are launched as seamlessly as possible, working intimately with our eCommerce platform.

As the eCommerce Coordinator you will spend a majority of your time executing on administrative tasks while helping roll out standards of service across existing and new RY destinations. You might also be asked to tap into your creative side by helping design and develop new and exciting products to deliver to the Remote Year community.

You’ll get to partner with a variety of internal stakeholders across our onboarding, programs, content and operations teams to gather information and assets to manage a portfolio of revenue generating products. You may also work externally with potential suppliers to negotiate details of product offerings, managing negotiations and content gathering before bringing the experience to market on Shopify.

The ideal candidate will bring a positive, service-oriented approach to the team, and will be an innovative self-starter that gets stuff done and has previous eCommerce experience.

This is a 100% full time remote role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the management of products, collections, and experience across Marketplace (Shopify) throughout the product life cycle including setup, monitoring, optimization and maintenance.
  • Manage the informational fields for each product, working closely with the local teams and partnering with the content team to support content management.
  • Manage orders, refunds and changes regularly.
  • Create new customer accounts when programs are launched.
  • Facilitate photography needs of products when necessary and maintain product image gallery with the content team.
  • Analyze data, product trends and assess initiatives to increase sales.
  • Manage internal requests related to Marketplace (Shopify) and resolve platform issues with Shopify support as needed.
  • Conduct focus groups and feedback sessions with our customers to help improve the Marketplace experience.
  • Help maintain processes and proactively look for opportunities to improve day-to-day and long-term planning and workflows.
  • Assist key stakeholders with other special projects where needed.

Must have:

  • 1+ year of eCommerce experience, preferably with Shopify
  • Basic working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Google Sheets, Docs and Drive.
  • Familiarity with page building apps such as Shogun or PageFly.
  • Strong customer service skills for responding to inquiries
  • Ability to organize and prioritize, managing multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to take direction and input from multiple people.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Enjoy digging into the data, running reports and tracking trends.

Nice to have:

  • Remote working experience
  • Knowledge of Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
  • Experience installing & customizing new Shopify themes.
  • Creative eye for design.
  • Past experience working within Tourism or DMC industries.
  • Open to candidates from all regions but preference for candidates based in Latin American time zones with Spanish speaking skills.
