Job purpose
The job purpose of the Marketing & Resource Mobilization Officer is to lead and manage fundraising activities to accomplish the expected results and strengthening the Marketing & Resource
Mobilization Division to achieve its plans.
“Resource mobilisation (RM)” ultimate objective in Lesotho Red Cross Society is to ensure that the Lesotho Red Cross Society secures the necessary adequate, predictable and secure resources to sustain the organisation and deliver on their mandate and strategy.
Job duties and responsibilities
plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate fundraising activities leading to increased financial support for the Lesotho Red Cross Society, and continuous learning to further develop and enhance these activities.
Track the periodic Plan of action for fundraising and set targets of income/investment.
Provide leadership in the development of resource mobilization and marketing plans, budgets and programmes, and day to day management required to implement and manage all the initiatives, including staff and volunteer management.
Establish committees as required to guide and assist with resource mobilization events and campaigns.
Continuously study market situation, carry out mapping of financial targets according to the RM strategy and create business opportunities for LRCS sustainability.
Support the positioning of the NS as an auxiliary to government (liaise with government for funding/budget allocation in specific areas like blood transfusion, ambulance, First Aid and Disaster Management).
Establish a knowledge management system for fundraising in different levels of LRCS.
Develop a database of current/previous supporters and prospects and establish reporting system.
Contact and collaborate with individuals, humanitarian agencies, corporate sector and financial institutions for fundraising collaboration.
Explore digital fundraising opportunities and collaborate with financial or technical institutions cooperation.
Develop and execute effective, measured digital marketing strategy for LRCS Business entities activities to drive better targeted advertising and new customer acquisition.
Establish in conjunction with the LRCS Fundraising task team mutually agreed resource mobilization targets with expected annual growth.
work with the Fundraising Task team to develop and implement strategies for individual donor development and acquisition, legacies, community groups, trusts, major donors, new initiatives, university and corporate support.
Develop and manage effective financial planning and control within the unit, including monitoring and evaluation of all income and expenditure targets of LRCS business entities

Able to work under stressful conditions and meet tight deadlines
Self-supporting in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, email)
Qualifications for the Resource Mobilization Job
Bachelor’s Degree or similar professional and/or academic qualifications in economics, marketing, Resource Mobilisation Development management or sales.
A minimum 5 years’ experience in RM/strategy development with track record in achievements in increased income
Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising systems and processes.
