Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field. A postgraduate qualification will be preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in marketing, advertising or communications
- Evidence of development of marketing strategies and/or effective communication campaigns
- Work experience in marketing, advertising or communications
- Work experience in a higher education sector will be preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
- Proficiency in developing cost-effective ways of promoting products and services
- Graphic design skills are an added advantage
- Evidence of creation of campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
- Evidence of ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Evidence of ability to use current technologies including digital/social media in marketing
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a Marketing Strategy for the University
- Develop and implement campaigns to market the University programmes and services
- Commission or conduct market research, analyse marketing trends and make cost-effective decisions for promotion of NUL products and services
- Develop student recruitment materials including prospectus and Faculty brochures, flyers and manage the distribution to relevant stakeholders
- Initiate development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, promotional materials, University memorabilia and corporate videos.
- Develop a Branding Guide for the University, including logo to assure consistency in all university materials
- Consolidate content and manage the University website and social media platforms
- Plan and implement events and promotional materials that encourage alumni involvement, increase good will and positive relationships with NUL
- Develop proposals and implement other projects for seeking support from foundations, international donors, alumni, and the community
- Develop and maintain a data base of external partnership and nurture those partnerships for on-going support to the University
- Plan promotional campaigns that target potential donors and students for recruitment and retention of existing ones
- Represent NUL in national exhibitions.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
