This position is full-time, remote, and based in the U.S. This position will require international travel while complying with safety advice and regular reporting into the Pacific standard time zone.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a highly experienced leader who will be responsible for the success of the overall business, including vision, strategy, people, product development, sales, and marketing. They will understand the international development context and make purposeful connections between SSE products and global clients. The Managing Director will balance product strategy and the growth of our sales portfolio with Splash International’s values, vision, and charitable mission. As part of a global, close-knit team, this role will shape the strategy for SSE’’s expansion as we launch third-party sales and explore other compelling opportunities.
A successful candidate will be able to position the enterprise for profitability and growth, serving as a product evangelist and entrepreneur. They will have start-up experience, ideally in bringing innovations to scale for low- and middle-income markets.
You would be reporting to Splash International’s Chief Partnership Officer who oversees all social enterprise work. You will be in charge of recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching SSE staff which currently consists of a Project Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refine and lead SSE’s mission, strategy, and metrics as business transitions from early stage to growth stage
- Lead SSE’s annual planning and budgeting process and be responsible for regular tracking, reforecasting, and reporting
- Lead and coach existing SSE team of two, with additional growth anticipated in late 2022/early 2023
- Provide strategic guidance to product management, including two existing products and one new product expected to launch in late 2022
- Support buildout of third-party marketing and sales capacity, currently focused on reaching low- and middle-income institutions (such as schools and healthcare facilities) through sales to NGO, government, and multi-lateral customers
- Build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including potential customers, governments, funders, partner organizations, and vendors
- Develop and execute strategy for internal communications to Splash International staff, management team, and board
- Produce proposals and reporting for institutional, corporate, and individual funders; partner with the Splash business development team to identify new donors/investors
- Manage and optimize key support functions with Splash International team, including legal, human resources, technology, finance, and development to support SSE growth and success.
