An opportunity exists to join this Investor in People Company in the above capacity. Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of MMI holdings, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual in the position of Managing Director based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the Metropolitan Lesotho Board of Directors.
Position Overview
The position is responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of all business operations of Metropolitan Lesotho, in accordance with the organisation’s policies and all applicable regulatory laws.
Responsibilities
• Act as an advisor to the Metropolitan Lesotho Board, and provide critical advice on industry and market issues that are likely to impact the business and ensure efficient co-ordination and execution of the MMI Group’s mandate to the Board;
• Develop strategic and annual business plans and budgets for Metropolitan Lesotho’s businesses and present to the Board of Directors for approval;
• Direct and drive the turnaround strategies for Metropolitan Lesotho businesses in a manner that will optimize achievement of the business goals and objectives, and result in increased shareholder value;
• Provide leadership in the development and implementation of specific strategic pillars to enhance profitability and shareholder value;
• Provide strategic direction on a daily basis in terms of the execution of the approved turnaround strategies to deliver shareholder value on the back of profitable growth;
Experience/Requirements
• An appropriate business post graduate tertiary qualification (e.g. B.Comm and/ or MBA);
• At least 10 years of directly related executive management experience;
• Must have a solid, in depth understanding of the business environment, processes, legislative and industry requirements;
• The successful candidate must be a Mosotho;
