LEWA invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho for the following position:
Department : Technical Regulation Water
Job Title : Manager-Technical Regulation Water
Responsible to : Chief Executive
Location : Maseru
Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive, the Manager-Technical Regulation Water shall take a leading role in the development, implementation and monitoring of technical regulation of the Urban Water and Sewerage Services (UWSS), with particular emphasis on safety, security and quality of supply; and development and implementation of technical rules and codes.
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure quality and security of supply of water in Lesotho.
- Monitor technical performance and compliance of licencees.
- Review and implement security of supply options for water and sewerage services
- Identify and facilitate the implementation of efficient use of water programs.
- Provide inputs on tariff or revenue setting reviews of licencees and capital expenditure projections.
- Provide inputs in the development and review of subsidiary legislation for water and sewerage service regulation
Education and Experience:
A Degree in Water Engineering, Hydrology, Civil, Mechanical or equivalent, with at least ten (10) years relevant working experience in a senior position.
Master’s Degree in Water Engineering, Hydrology, Civil, Mechanical or equivalent will be an added advantage.
A postgraduate qualification in Management will be an added advantage.
Work experience in a regulatory environment will be an added advantage.
Remuneration and Benefits:
The Authority offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Contract Duration:
Five (5) years performance based contract, which may be renewed upon satisfactory performance.
