ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF MANAGER-TECHNICAL REGULATION WATER
The Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) was established in terms of the Lesotho Electricity Authority Act No.12 of 2002 as amended, to regulate the electricity supply industry, urban water and sewerage services in the country.
LEWA invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho for the following position:
Department : Technical Regulation Water
Job Title : Manager-Technical Regulation Water
Responsible to : Chief Executive
Location : Maseru
- Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Chief Executive, the Manager-Technical Regulation Water shall take a leading role in the development, implementation and monitoring of technical regulatory frameworks for the Urban Water and Sewerage Services (UWSS), with particular emphasis on safety, security and quality of supply.
- Key Result Areas
- Monitor technical performance and compliance of licences.
- Review and implement security of supply options for water and sewerage services.
- Identify and facilitate the implementation of efficient use of water programs.
- Provide inputs on tariff or revenue setting reviews of licencees and capital expenditure projections.
- Provide inputs in the development and review of subsidiary legislation for water and sewerage service regulation
- Education and Experience
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Water Engineering, Hydrology, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with at least ten (10) years relevant working experience in a Senior Management position.
The following shall be added advantages:
- Master of Science Degree in Water Engineering, Hydrology, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or;
- Master’s Degree in Management or Business Administration or;
- Post-graduate Diploma in Management or Business Administration; or
- Work experience in regulatory environment.
- Remuneration and Benefits
The Authority offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Contract Duration
Five (5) years performance based contract, which may be renewed upon satisfactory performance.
