Description

Closing Date: 6th May 2022

Reporting to the Executive Head of Legal and Compliance, the role of the incumbent shall be to work to protect the data privacy of Vodacom Lesotho customers and employees. The incumbent shall be expected to own and manage the privacy team roadmap and to work with various teams, including Cyber Security, Corporate Security, HR, Commercial, Technology, Supply Chain Management (SCM) etc. to drive key objectives to completion and provide contractual legal advice.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the commercial and technology strategy and shaping their initiatives to ensure privacy is a priority.
  • Support Privacy by Design and Assurance activities across a range of data processing activities, including management of privacy impact assessments, supporting privacy demand management, triage and categorisation of requests
  • Conducting re-assessments of high and medium risk personal data processing activities according to annual assurance plan to ensure continuous compliance with Vodacom and Vodafone privacy baseline requirements
  • Supporting Supplier Compliance processes, in particular ensuring privacy considerations are incorporated to supplier management processes and related compliance monitoring
  • Supporting the negotiation and execution of external and internal data protection terms including shareholder agreements, collaboration agreements, partner agreements, standard supplier agreements, complex technology agreements and internal framework agreements
  • Developingand embedding templates, advice, guidance and processes with the objective of making the negotiation of data protection terms more efficient and effective.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in privacy and or legal.
  • Expert understanding of GDPR
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and data protection clauses.
  • Good understanding of global privacy landscape in commercial and technology businesses;
