Position Overview

As a Manager in the HDX Practice reporting to its Senior Director, your primary responsibility will be the management and delivery of key HDX consulting projects, either as an individual contributor or a project lead. These might include the assessment, selection and implementation of new health information exchange solutions or data sharing platforms. You will also be expected to recruit, manage and develop HDX consultants in various areas of expertise relevant to the practice: interface developers, solutions architects, standards consultant, product experts, etc. You may be assigned one or more accounts for which you will be responsible for the management of client relationships, quality of HDX service delivery and overall performance of the HDX consulting team. You will be a key driver for the revenue growth and quality of the services rendered to the clients assigned to you, with the support and collaboration of the recruiting, sales, HR and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background, a solid track record of delivering on increasingly complex projects, deep knowledge of health data domains and technologies, strong soft skills and experience overseeing other team members. Gevity s hours are flexible with a minimum of 40 hours per week and all our consultants work from home as a default. Your actual work schedule will vary based on the requirements of client projects. We are open to applicants from anywhere in the USA or Canada willing to work for clients throughout the United States and to travel onsite as required (once it is safe to do so).

Responsibilities:

Lead client engagements and act as a lead consultant for the assessment, selection, implementation and maintenance of HDX solutions. You will take a leadership role with initiatives and other team members.

Manage a team of consultants. For each direct report, you will:

  • Provide direction, advice and coaching on an ongoing basis;
  • Assess performance and professional development needs during weekly check-ins;
  • Manage staff utilization;
  • Review and approve expenses as per either client contract and/or Gevity policy;
  • Coordinate employee and contractor onboarding and offboarding;
  • Generally track attendance and safety of staff.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of assigned client accounts and projects, which includes managing engagement onboarding, offboarding, burn rate, expenses, invoice approvals, accounts receivable, client satisfaction and the overall performance of the Gevity team on your accounts;
  • Proactively contribute to consultant sourcing and recruitment activities for the HDX Practice in order to fulfill the delivery needs, leveraging the company s recruitment services;
  • Support business development activities, with the support from the leadership and sales teams. This may include marketing activities, relationship building and proposal development for business opportunities;
  • Contribute to the Division s long-term planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

You must therefore be ready to adapt to new environments, able to handle stress and to be patient with yourself during challenging projects, and self-driven enough to create new opportunities for your team and have the following experience:

  • Broad industry experience in health IT, including a minimum of 5 years as a senior technical contributor to data platforms, HIEs, data warehouses or interface engines in healthcare;
  • Experience working with Integration platforms, like InterSystems, Rhapsody and/or other industry standard products
  • Experience working with stakeholders at all organizational levels within technology departments;
  • An extremely high degree of autonomy and organization, able to effectively manage your time and competing priorities;
  • An ability to foster effective teamwork to set goals and resolve problems and ensure services are delivered to the client s satisfaction and Gevity s expectation of quality;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work, once it is safe to do so;
  • A stellar performance record in prior employments.

Assets

The following qualifications are optional, but will be considered strong assets for this role and may become professional development objectives during your career at Gevity:

  • Prior experience delivering consulting services or managing other professionals;
  • An undergraduate or technical diploma in computer science or another discipline relevant to the role;
  • Experience developing interfaces in one of the industry standard integration platforms
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 v2/3 and FHIR;
  • Software development background in C++, Java or .Net
  • Experience or training in Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF
  • Experience in designing solution architectures and developing technical roadmaps, hardware specifications, and disaster recovery solutions;
  • Any other industry recognized certifications, specifically in Health Information Management (CPHIMS), Business Analysis (CBAP), Change Management (PROSCI) or Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2).
