The Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) is the regulatory body for the communications sector in Lesotho. LCA invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Manager – Finance. This position requires a top-notch candidate who is conversant with the latest developments in the Communications Sector and who is prepared to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
The Manager – Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent’s key responsibilities will include the following:
- Coordinate and prepare the budget of the Authority.
- Analyses revenue sources and prepares revenue budget.
- Monitors expenditure and ensures all payments are made in accordance with financial procedural rules and in line with approved budget.
- Advise on the best financial practices, procedures and processes.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial records.
- Prepare annual financial statements.
- Manage the Authority’s investment portfolio.
- Maintain fixed assets register.
- Verify disbursements to ensure completeness, correctness and accuracy.
- Check monthly reconciliations.
- Advise on the best financial practices, procedures and processes.
- Ensuring that relevant financial policies are in place.
- Coordinates external audit process of the Authority.
- Appraise projects to determine their feasibility and viability.
Qualifications
The applicant must be a Chartered Accountant registered with Lesotho Institute of Accountants, have a Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent, plus a minimum of five (5) years experience in a relevant area.
